Lefty the Leprechaun

We had a little visitor that showed up at our house the week of St. Patrick's Day. We woke up some mornings to the strangest things....

A funny looking tower with a trophy on top.

The kid's toys thrown all over the floor with the basket propped up on the couch.

All of the kid's dirty clothes taken out of the hamper and thrown on the bathroom floor.

Brooklyn's room a disaster (not quite sure if it was Lefty or Brooklyn, but quite a coincidence either way).

The day before St. Patricks Day there was a trail of shoes from Brevin and Brynn's room that went through the living room to the front door.

Then there was a note left from Lefty the Leprechaun. I was busy working in the morning and didn't even hear that sneaky little guy at all.

Brevin had a Leprechaun, Patty O'Reilly who was at his school leaving messes and notes too. For a homework/family project Brevin had to build a Leprechaun trap.

Grandpa, Mom, and Brev spent quite a bit of time on this. We even put Lucky Charms in the bottom of the tricky hat (that had slits in it for that prankster to fall in), so he wouldn't get hungry.

Brev was so excited to take it to school and explain how it worked.

On the morning of St. Patricks Day, the kids woke up to a fun little hunt. Lefty was busy the night before and left around 20-ish notes having the kids go from room to room and upstairs to downstairs. With a fun little prize (lots of green candy)at the end.

Then Lefty dyed their milk green that crazy guy.

As well as the toilet bowl. He was quite tricky.
We were not able to catch him, but the note did say he will see us next year. I wonder what other kind of messes he could make...hopefully not anything too big.
Patty O'Reilly (from school) went to Brev's trap and left a bunch of glitter, ate a chocolate coin, and spelled the word "YUM" on the ground out of the Lucky Charms. I guess he is just as magical as Lefty.
The kids LOVED St. Patricks Day to say the least.

You get the Leperchaun Day award. My kids were sorely dissapointed that the Leperchaun forgot to come and the explanation that the house was such a mess that they couldn't notice all the messes he left didn't quite fly. But Daddy Leperchaun saved the day and there was a treasure hunt with a pot of gold.
