Basketball + Door jam = Trouble

On a Friday night (3/19) we were babysitting Kaya and the kids were playing and having a good time. I had just finished dinner and was taking it down to mom (who was still recovering from surgery). While down there we were chatting about the Parent Trap movie star that died from a head wound and how head wounds are kind of tricky because they can get serious so fast.

So I come upstairs to chaos....Brooklyn and Kaya on top of the table, Keith getting them down, Brynn bouncing a ball (loudly), and Brev screaming at the top of his lungs. Keith tells me to go in and look at Brev's head and this is what I see. (Gotta love the pizza crumbs on his face.)

It is my unicorn. Actually it was quite freaky and of course the mom that I am...I run and get the camera before giving him ice and medicine.

After the "doctors" took care of Brev, he seemed to calm down though.

The funky swelling went down a couple of hours after the incident, which I know some of you are dying to find out. He was playing with a little over-the-door basketball hoop, as usual. He was chasing a runaway ball and not paying attention to where he was at until he hit the door jam. The large picture was maybe 2 minutes after it had happened. It was obviously a bump crash, as that puffed up immediately.

This was the next morning, which I was expecting some huge bruise or something other than little red marks. Although today he has this silly bump that sticks out on highest red mark in the picture...not quite sure if that is a good thing or bad.
