I decided, what the heck. We might have some meltdowns, but I would attempt it. This would probably be the most help I'd ever get experiencing public transportation and a complete day away from our comfortable house.
I didn't tell the kids what our "adventure" was, but they were very excited for the unknown. We drove to the train station and got the tickets and they were pretty excited.
At first they were unsure, but after the second stop, they quite enjoyed not having to be in a car seat to go somewhere.
Us entering downtown.
I LOVE this chick. Tami is one amazing women. She is my friend who invited me to go on this adventure in the first place.
This was our first attempt to get onto the bus. It was kind of a joke, but we made it. I'm sure the bus driver looked at our group-which consisted of 6 adults, 2 teenagers, 9 kids, and 4 babies (2 and younger). It doesn't sound that huge, but when you add 3 strollers, and 4 diaper bags, etc....it is starting to get tricky. Not to mention that the bus was completely packed full with people.
Megan did it, but almost got caught. I guess once you start, you cannot stop or else you will fall off.
Chloe, Brooks, and Brynn. We waited for a butterfly to land on Brynn's shoulder for the longest time. Finally I said it was time to go and just as she moved a butterfly flew off her shirt. She barely saw it fly away. Thank you butterfly!
After the Science Center, we got Subway and went to the fountain. It was the day after Michael Jackson died, so they blasted his music. It was so much fun listening to the good ol' Thriller, Billy Jean, etc.
Travis with a few of the kids.
Brev and Brooks playing in the water.
Brooks and Megan snuggling at the fountain.
Brynn, Megan, and Brev.
The craziest time getting on the bus. The next bus was not supposed to come for 25 minutes, so we were relaxing and guess what...the bus we need pulls up. We had cups and kids EVERYWHERE. That bus lady was not very nice and especially more ticked once our whole brigade joined them. Let's just say we laughed a lot on this bus-not to mention, we missed our stop to get to the train...oops.
Thanks Tam for thinking of us and inviting us along.

What a day!! I bet everyone was exhausted by the end of the day. You are such a good mom for taking your kids to do that! My mom drives for metro...too bad you didn't get her for a driver. I took my kids on her bus when we were visiting and they LOVED it!!!
