So I forgot to tell ya'll about our lucky incident that occured on April 2, 2007. I was busy making dinner with Brooklyn crying on my hip, as I heard Keith yell, "Oh my gosh..." and stick his head out the window. Immediately after I heard Keith yell, I heard Brynn screaming outside. After putting two and two together, I ran out the front door and down to the side of the house (with Brooklyn still on my hip).
Brynn had fallen out the window. Not only was it falling out the window, but it was the farthest drop on this side of the house, closest to the concrete. She has a habit of waving goodbye to people when the leave our house, which is great. I had told her time and time again that the window does not need to be open, as she could fall out and get hurt. Needless to say THAT did happen.
Grandma Dorsey had already picked her up and was comforting her when I got there. Then a second later, my husband is jumping out of the same window. I asked him what he was thinking and he wanted to get to her, as well as was curious how big of a drop that that was.
So Brynn is still screaming and we are checking her out to see what was wrong. As we were looking over her - she was okay. Not only was she okay, but not even her clothes were dirty or wet for that matter. Just from me running out to get her, my socks and pant legs were soaked.
We know that Brynn was watched over and protected in this incident. She amazingly enough is fine, but a few days later she had the window open and I hat to remind her what had happen a few days before; then she wouldn't go near it or even close the window for that matter.
Later that night, Brevin and Brynn were talking about her falling. Brevin said that if he fell, he'd spray some webs like Spiderman and swing. Brynn immediately piped in and said, "No Ri (that is what she calls Brev and is corrected by Brevin if she calls him anything else), it is scary...very scary. We don't go near the window anymore. Okay Ri?"
